Calling All Former SWD Saracen Operators, REME Craftsmen and Military Vehicle Enthusiasts

We’re hoping the incredible knowledge of our community can help a modeller with a very niche challenge.
A colleague from Foxhopp Models has taken on the ambitious task of building from scratch the complete rear interior of an SWD Saracen EOD vehicle to go inside his Airfix Model of this vehicle.
As often happens with these projects, one question answered has led to several more! He now has a much clearer view of the rear of Saracen 06FF23 thanks to help from other sites, but he’s trying to identify and understand some of the equipment and layout hidden further inside the vehicle.

In particular, he’s looking for:

✅ Photographs of the rear interior of SWD-EOD Saracens
✅ Sketches, diagrams or technical drawings
✅ Descriptions of the equipment mounted behind the visible pipework and control panels
✅ Information on what appears to be a cylindrical stainless steel tank or container in the rear compartment
✅ Any recollections from former SWD-EOD operators who worked on or around these vehicles

The aim isn’t museum-level perfection. Even a rough sketch, memory, or explanation could make a huge difference in helping preserve the detail and history of these remarkable vehicles in model form.

If you served with, maintained, or operated SWD Saracens, or know someone who did, please get in touch [email protected]

Every piece of information helps keep this bit of EOD history alive.
